Disabling and Enabling Text Messaging

Text messaging is enabled by default on every phone number in your Tresta system with All Users selected as Authorized Users, however, it's easy to disable texting from any phone number.

The instructions below assume that you are a system administrator and have a phone number where text messaging is enabled. 

Disabling Text Messaging

    1. If you’re a system administrator, log into the Tresta web app. Once your account opens, click on the Settings tab at the top of the page.
    2. Click on on the Phone Numbers tab. This button is located in the left sidebar within the System Components. This opens the Phone Numbers page.
    3. Locate the phone number for which you want text messaging disabled. The Text Messaging feature can be disabled on as many of your phone numbers as needed.
    4. Click on the Edit icon for the phone number. This icon is in the upper right corner the phone number container. Once clicked, the Edit Phone Number page appears.
    5. Click the Text Messaging tab. Here you will see an Enable button and a Disable button. Click on the Disable button. Whichever button is active turns red, while the inactive option is gray. 
    6. Click the red Save button in the upper right corner of the Edit Phone Number page. Text Messaging is now disabled for that phone number.

Enabling Text Messaging

Should you later decide you want to use a particular phone number for texting, here are the steps you need to follow. Once you are logged into the web app and on the Phone Numbers page, do the following:

    1. Locate the phone number for which you want text messaging enabled. 
    2. Click on the Edit icon for the phone number. This icon is in the upper right corner the phone number container. Once clicked, the Edit Phone Number page appears.
    3. Click the Text Messaging tab. Here you will see an Enable button and a Disable button. Click on the Enable button. Whichever button is active turns red, while the inactive option is gray. 
    4. Click the red Save button in the upper right corner of the Edit Phone Number page. Text Messaging is now enabled for that phone number.
