When you sign up for a Tresta account, you have the ability to bring your current number with you; this is called number porting.
Number porting is the transfer of a phone number to a new provider, without the need of obtaining a new phone number. With number porting, it is be possible to transfer your number between wireline, IP, and wireless providers.
The Tresta porting process can take up to 48 hours, but calls to your number will still ring through to you. In addition, you maintain ownership of your phone number and it is not owned by Tresta after the number porting process is complete.
Before you choose to transfer your phone number to Tresta, please read the Federal Communication Commission regulations regarding number porting.
