Use groups to represent departments, teams, and other organizational units. In addition to the groups you may choose to add, Tresta includes three system groups that control permissions within your phone system.
All Users: Members can only make changes to their own user profile.
Billing Admins: Members are able to view billing invoices, modify the payment method on file and cancel service.
System Admins: Members can make system configuration changes that affects how your business phone system works.
To manage your groups, you’ll need to sign in to the web app.
Click the System option in the main navigation.
Note – if you are not a member of the System Admins group, you will not see this option.
Select Groups from the sidebar options on the left, you can view your groups with additional options to:
Add a New Group
- Click the Add button
- Give the group a name.
- Add members by selecting “Add Another” and toggling the dropdown menu of users.
- Select Voicemail to manage the groups voicemail greetings and subscribers.

Deactivate a Group
To deactivate a group, select the deactivate icon on the group.
Select a user or group to replace the group you want to deactivate and confirm.
The selected user or group will appear in the call flow in place of the deactivated group as well as gain permissions to voicemails, call recordings, and messages.
Note – you may not deactivate any of the three Tresta system groups, only groups that System Admins have created.
Search and Filter Groups
To search your groups, simply begin typing in the search bar and your results will live filter.
To filter groups, select the filter icon in the search bar. Here you can filter by Name, Recently Added, and Recently Modified.
Edit a Group
To edit a group name, members, voicemail greeting and subscribers, select the Edit icon on the group you want to modify.
Add members by selecting “Add Another” and toggling the dropdown menu of users.
Remove members by selecting the remove icon.
